Castleton-Olga B. Wilson passed away early Thursday morning, August 13, 2015 at her home in Castleton. She was a resident of the area since 1947 when she opened Broderick’s Restaurant, first in Schodack, then in Averill Park.
Olga retired after 20 years in the restaurant business and became gainfully employed by the State of New York.
She retired again in 1980 and became a Pro at Golf, scoring an ace on the third hole at the Evergreen Country Club in Schodack Center.

In addition to her hospitality skills and gollfing accomplishments, painting mostly in water colors, was her passion. She was truly a great artist and earned the priviledge of displaying her creativity and talents at many local exibits throughout the years.

Olga is survived by her two sons, Michael (Thomasina) Wilson of Rensselaer and Benjamin Broderick of Castleton, five grandchildren, Derek (Marie), Nicole, Michael, David (Valerie) and Kristopher, nieces and nephews, Linda and John Chesbro of Rensselaer and Yvonne and Clemont Rivera of Croton-on-Hudson, NY. In addition to her deceased Mother and Father, John and Elizabeth Kenigan, Olga is predeceased by her two husbands, two sisters, Adele Eberle and Lovetta Morey and a brother Leo Kenigan.

To this very holy woman, special friends, Karen Rogers, Barbara Murphy, and Maria Pangilinan provided weekly eucharist and spiritual prayer and inspiration over the last ten years for which our family is very grateful.
Joan Alderman of Cut Loose Hair & Nail Salon, provided outstanding care of Olga’s grooming with hairdressing, manicures, flowers and friendship.

Much gratitude is due Dineen Dale, next door neighboor and fellow golfer for her kindness and compassion during these last years and special thanks to Jen “Gem” Erhgood of the Eddy VNA, for her thoughtful_ness, gentle humor and professionalism.

Respecting Olga’s wishes, There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Contributions in Olga’s memory may be made to the Rensselaer County Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144, whose caring attentiveness over the last several months eased her passing or the Church of St. Mary’s, Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144
