A D-Day Veteran, he hit the beach at Normandy in the sixth wave and survived frozen feet, capture and being shot three times. Returning home, he and Joan were married and began their family. He and Joan loved to travel, having enjoyed nine cruises as well as a European trip with their good friends, Sally and Rick Randall.
