Stammel, Carolyn E. Brookview-Carolyn E. (Brunner) Stammel, 98, died Saturday July 29, 2017 at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was the wife of the late Edward R. Stammel and is survived by her son Raymond D. Stammel, several nieces and nephews and special friend Carolyn Agan. Carolyn had been employed at The Fort Orange Paper Company initially but most of her working life was spent at A & P Markets, East Greenbush where she served in various capacities for 35 years. Locally she was known as the “Pie Lady” for her baking skills. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the staff at Riverside for the kind care given to Carolyn during her stay. The family will receive visitors from 12-1 pm Thursday August 3, 2017 at Ray Funeral Home 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY. A brief service will be held at the funeral home at 1 pm. followed by burial in New Sacred Heart Cemetery.
