Schodack Landing-Charleen Y. Downey, 62, died peacefully at home on Saturday December 31, 2016. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of Shirley Johnson and the late Willard Johnson. Charleen was predeceased by her daughter, Jo-Anne Farrigan; her grandson, Brandon Benedict; a sister, Carol Acker and a brother, Willard Johnson.
She is survived by her husband Joseph C. Downey; son, Richard F. Brown (Mandy); step-son, Joseph M. Downey; brothers, George Johnson and John Johnson; sisters, Catherine Hennessey and Sharon Bunting; grandchildren, Brianna Brown, Cody Brown, Gillian Farrigan, Laura Farrigan and Michael Millard; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her funearal service will take place 11:00 am Friday January 6, 2017 at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening January 5, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene, 47 Liberty St., Catskill, NY 12414.
