Reickert, Rita M.

Castleton-Rita M. Reickert, 91, passed away peacefully at home with her family Monday February 12, 2018. Born in Dalton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Mildred(Champagne) and Frederick O’Keefe. She was predeceased by her son Lee Reickert, her grandson Gregory Reickert, and her brother Donald O’Keefe. Rita is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Russell J. Reickert; her daughter, Lynn Reickert(late Roger); daughter-in-law Linda Reickert; sister Eileen Hempstead; grandchildren Andrea(Miles), Brian(Elisabeth); great grandchildren Aidan, Blaise, Ella, Alexandria and Dexter.

Rita had worked for 20 years at Maple Hill High School in the cafeteria but most of her life was a homemaker. A quiet woman, those close to her shared her sense of humor. For those who sought her counsel, she had a keen ear for listening to their concerns. Rita and Russ were blessed with one of the most longstanding marriages in the community. In total, they had known each other 74 years. Because of this longevity, they have made a countless number of friends and contacts over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service in Horizonview Cemetery on Saturday February 17, 2018 at 1 pm.
