Amodeo, Charolette A.

Castleton-Charolette A. Amodeo, 78, passed on peacefully at home Saturday October 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Charolette was born in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of the late Dr. John R. Lewis and Esther L. (Moffatt) Lewis. A graduate of Columbia High School and Bryant College, RI, Charolette worked for the State of NY before she married. She then dedicated herself to family, joining her husband as proprietor of The Korner Store and Castleton Upholstery. She also worked briefly in food service with the Schodack School District. A 30+ year Avon Lady, Cheri was a creative soul who taught others how to express themselves with Artex paints that she also sold. Her love of sewing and crafts led to employment at both Fabric Bonanza and Ben Franklin Stores locally. A treasured hobby of hers was quilting with her dear friends in the “Bits and Pieces” quilting group.
Charolette was committed to her community and for a time was a member of her local Kiwanis organization. She also dedicated 16 years to the Boy Scouts as a Den Mother and many years to the 4-H organization. A devout Catholic, she was actively involved with her Church community as a catechism instructor, Eucharistic Minister, long-standing member of the choir, member of the Mustard Seed group and book club.
Charolette is predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years Jon A. Amodeo and her son Francis J. Amodeo. She is survived by her children Jody M. Cady (Joe Bodner, Jr.), Daniel R. Amodeo (Mary), John J. Amodeo, Steve M. Amodeo, Thomas A. Amodeo, Patrick A. Amodeo, and Linda J. Amodeo Taylor (Don Taylor); 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 10 am Thursday October 25, 2018 in Sacred Heart Church, Castleton. Calling hours 6-8 pm Wednesday October 24, 2018 in Ray Funeral Home, Castleton.
