Fusco, Anthony J., Sr.

Schenectady-Anthony J. Fusco, Sr., 93, passed away on Tuesday February 11, 2014. Born in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph and Vincenzia Fusco and was predeceased by a brother John, sisters Joanne Staph, Flora Colasurdo, Gina Belardo and son-in-law John (Jack) McDonald in 2004.
Anthony retired from Atlantic States Kitchen Distributors. He and his wife became residents of Palm Harbor, FL. Before returning to the Capital District in 2006 to be with friends and family.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and while stationed in San Francisco, CA he met his future wife, Mary O’Hara. They were married in 1944 and moved back to the Capital District after the War ended. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus involved with many church activities, an avid golfer and a serious sports enthusiast..
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years Mary O’Hara Fusco; son, Anthony (Ellen) Fusco, Jr., and grandchildren Linsay ( Hardie), Andrew and Travis Fusco and great grandson Brooks (Hardie); a daughter Donna (McDonald) and granddaughters Emily McDonald, Jennifer (Clarke), son-in-law Jeremey Clarke and great grandchildren Jack and Vivienne Clarke.
A special thanks to the staff at Capital Living Nursing and Rehab Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 am Saturday February 15, 2014 at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd., Schenectady, NY. There will be no viewing hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Caregivers, 2021 Western Ave., Suite 104, Albany, NY 12203.
