Suzanne K. (Pomykaj) VanDeWal, 80, of Castleton, passed suddenly at home on Nov. 26, 2021. Born on Sept. 11, 1941 to the late Henry and Katherine Brunner. She embraced over 50 years of Companionship with the late Charles Pomykaj Sr. and Russell C. VanDeWal. Her dedication to community exemplifies her contributions to so many. Volunteering at the Anchor, delivering donations to the Salvation Army and sponsoring the local emergency services are compliments to her 50 plus years of service as a hairdresser, (Beauty By Suzanne), in our small and tight knit village. “Aunt Sue” will always be a legend and shall never by forgotten. Cherishing her memory are her sons, Charles (Jennifer) Pomykaj Jr. and John Pomykaj; daughter, Cathy (Carl) Bornhorst; grandchildren, Carl Daniel, Angela, Charles III, Kaylee, Alex, Hunter and Jack; great grandson, Roy V; beloved by, Marybeth, Helen and several nieces, nephews and cousins all which served as positive influences in her long and wonderful life. Per her wishes she was laid to rest in a private ceremony in New Sacred Heart Cemetery, South Old Post Rd. Castleton. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Castleton Ambulance, The Anchor, or to the South Schodack Fire Dept.
