Swan, Ruth E.

Castleton-Ruth E. (Rowe) Swan, May 26, 1921-November 24, 2016, passed away on Thanksgiving morning, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Ruth was devoted to Sacred Heart Church in Castleton, as she served as an Apostle for many years. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Albert and Claire Rowe as well as her siblings Robert, Dorothy, Connie, her husband Charles Swan, Sr, and her dear friend Monsignor Conway.

Ruth is survived by her children Polly (Larry) Smith, Bob (Shirley) Jobin and Charles Swan, Jr. (Dawn Goes) as well as her grandchildren Michelle Mann, Tammy Thomas, Jennifer (Todd) Longtin, Robert (Kely) Jobin, April Jobin and Kyra Swan. Ruth is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Patricia and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Riverview Center and the Nun’s of the Resurrection Convent for all the love and care she was shown as Ruth was also known to frequently visit patients and Nuns over the years before her illness.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Friday December 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton, NY.
