Ruth V. Drischler

Ruth V. Drischler 93, of Castleton passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 6th, 2022. Born in Disputanta Virginia October 16th 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Bulan. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 28 years Douglas Drischler Sr., who died on December 27th 1975. Ruth was born and raised on The Bulan Family Farm, which relocated to Schodack NY in 1932. Throughout Ruth's life, she was known to always be out in her garden, she had a green thumb like no other. She worked as the administrative bookkeeper for the family business Drischler Electric for over 60 years. She also served as the Schodack Assistant Court Clerk from 1981-1997. You could often find Ruth with her family and friends enjoying an Off Shore Pier fish fry on Saturday nights. She was an active member of The First United Methodist Church located in East Greenbush, NY. Surviving are her three children Gail (Brad) Lewis, Douglas (Nancy) Drischler, Frederick (Kimberly) Drischler, 7 grandchildren Jon (Tracey) Mossey, Jeff Mossey (Jocelyn Rumpf), Scott Drischler (Pam Dugas), Shane Drischler (Dori Mcmahon), Kristi Drischler, Rebecca Drischler (Mark Wiseman), and Frederick Drischler II (Victoria Yeutter), along with 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her 11 siblings Marie Bulan Fleming, John Bulan, Lena Bulan Grimes, Steven Bulan, George Bulan, Mildren Bulan Bright, Agnes Bulan Eaves, Frank Bulan, Joseph Bulan, Benjamin Bulan, and Abraham Bulan. She is survived by her sister Esther Bulan Graboritz of Compton, California. Calling hours will take place Friday, March 11th from 10:00am to 12:00pm with the funeral service commencing at 12:00pm at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, N.Y. Burial will follow at Horizon View Cemetery, 1375 Brookview Station Rd, Castleton-On-Hudson, NY 12033. A celebration of Ruth's life with family and friends to follow at the Stablegate Lodge, 10 Linda way, Castleton, NY 12033. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's honor can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Shriners Hospital for Children.
