Lorraine M. Riley

Castleton- Lorraine M. Riley age 98 went on her final journey, Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, to be with her beloved husband Howard J. Riley, who she fondly called “Bib.” She will also be with her daughters Lorna, Luanne, and Lynne Marie. Lorraine’s only sister Theresa Poquette also predeceased her. She is survived by her four remaining daughters, Leah (the late Robert), Lorry (Edward), Lesley (Steve) and Libby (Edward). She also had nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, with one more on the way to be born in March. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was born in Burlington, VT Nov. 29, 1923. She married her high school sweetheart on May 4, 1946. In 1962 they moved to Castleton, NY where they resided for the rest of their lives until Bib passed away in 2008. Lorraine resided her last six years at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush. She is finally at peace from the ravages of Alzheimer’s and dementia. Lorraine will return to Burlington, VT to be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery next to her beloved husband Bib. A private graveside will be at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Evergreen Commons for the care and compassion shown to Lorraine over the last six years. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the Castleton Volunteer Ambulance, 1700 Brookview Road, Castleton NY 12033. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Castleton Funeral Home, Castleton, NY.
