CASTLETON - Joneta “Jean” Chupa, 74 passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Hudson, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Neta Floeter. Jean graduated from Hudson High School in 1964. She was employed by KeyBank as a teller and later, as a teacher’s assistant at Castleton Elementary School for 19 years and in the cash office of Walmart for 10 years.
She was an avid reader and knitter, who donated many baby blankets to the NICU. Jean enjoyed all kinds of puzzles and games, loved music and anything made with fresh peaches. But most of all she treasured spending time with her family, her best friend Sue, and her dog Missy.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Alexander Chupa; her two daughters Christine (John Jason) Lill of Tariffville, CT and Kimberly (Keith) Kosakoski of East Greenbush; and the loves of her life, her five grandsons Jacob, Caden and Riley Lill, and Griffin and Kane Kosakoski. She is also survived by her siblings Ann Foster of Copake Falls, NY, David (Quintina) Floeter of Carrollton, TX, and Richard Floeter of Hudson, NY.
Calling hours for relatives and friends will be on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Avenue, Castleton, NY. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM. All are welcome to attend.
