Scofield, Jane (Richards)

EAST GREENBUSH - Jane Richards Scofield, born Jane Heath Smith, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2014.

Jane was born in Monterey, Massachusetts to the late Donald Hiram Smith and Eleanor (Heath) Smith. She was a retired business manager for the Board of Cooperative Educational Services and formerly worked for Schodack Central Schools and General Electric. Jane loved to laugh, enjoyed traveling, and loved birds and other animals. She sang in the Capital District Chorale Society and in the church choir.

Jane is survived by her loving sister, Ann Dean, her daughters Susan Messier and husband Richard, Diane McAteer, Lani Richards and husband Fred McCagg; grandchildren Sari Knoop, Scarlett Messier-McLaughlin, Katie McAteer, Sara Carey, Robert Rafferty and their spouses, as well as several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Clark Watson.

The family would like to thank Evergreen Commons Healthcare Facility for the care that Jane received over the past several years.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday September 20, 2014 from 11 a.m. to
