Castleton, NY-Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Saville (Sabotka), 73, of Castleton passed away suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Albert E. Saville. They shared 54 years of marriage together. She was born in Torrington, CT on July 14, 1941 and lived in Castleton, NY since 1972. She was the daughter of the late Lucinda “Jean” (DeMasi) and Anthony Sabotka.
Betty was employed as the Assistant Clerk for the Village of Castleton and worked for many years as a Service Manager for Finast Supermarkets. She was a life member of the Castleton Fire Company Ladies Auxilliary. Betty was kind and friendly, greeting everyone with a warm, welcome smile and loving heart. Her vibrant and beautiful personality touched all of those whom she met. She spent her life by the side of her soul mate and best friend Al. Together, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends, creating many happy memories. Boating and camping were among their favorite activities. Her italian cooking, especially her lasagna and meatballs, was often requested. She was very proud of her grandchildren and attended their many sporting and dance events. Betty loved engaging in conversation, including long phone conversations with her siblings.
She is survived by her devoted husband Albert E. Saville; her loving children Kim Femia (late Angelo), Sherry Scott (Charles), and Richard (Rita). She is predeceased by her daughter, Gail. She is also survived by her grandchildren who shared a very special relationship with their Nan; Nicholas, Corey, and Gabriel Stockman, Brianna Femia, Aidan Scott and her great-granddaughter, Penelope Stockman. She is also survived by her siblings Alfred Sabotka (Barbara) and Francis Sabotka (Anna) of Florida, Janice Bovino of Connecticut, and brother-in-law Anthony Mollica of California and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by her in-laws, Angelina (Falcone) and Harold Saville, and in-laws Evelyn & Lucien Herbert, and Ann Mollica.
The family would like to thank the Castleton Ambulance and staff at Albany Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday July 6, 2015 in Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may attend her calling hours 4-8 pm Sunday July 5, 2015 at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY. Burial will follow the Mass in New Sacred Heart Cemetery.
