Castleton-Mrs. Eileen “Dot” Mason, 65 of Castleton, NY departed this world on July 15th, 2016 after a courageous battle against cancer, surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Richard Mason, son Shawn, daughter Heather, siblings John, Mike, Pat, Terry, and Kathleen as well as countless beloved family and friends. She worked for 37 years for the NYS Department of Transportation.

Eileen loved to read, enjoyed aerobics, bowling, kayaking and making memories with her family and friends. Her expressive face often created a light hearted atmosphere, which will forever be mirrored in the faces of her children. Her infectious laughter filled the room and will echo in our hearts always. Eileen’s sweet disposition, love for life, and foresight of silver linings will always serve as a reminder of the truly kind-hearted individuals that exist in this world.

The Mason family would like to extend their gratitude to the members of the Sacred Heart Church and caregivers of the Columbia-Greene Community Hospice. Their kindness resonated in a time when more than words were needed.

The family will receive visitors to celebrate her life at Ray Funeral Home of Castleton from 5pm – 8pm on Tuesday July 19th. Her funeral Mass will be 10 am Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, Castleton.
