Douglas C. Lebrecht

Castleton- Douglas C. Lebrecht, age 82, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital. Douglas was born in Albany, NY to the late Henry and Beulah (Minshell) Lebrecht. He was employed by the Armory Garage for 42 years, where he worked prepping new vehicles. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter. He enjoyed camping at Peck’s Lake. Douglas enjoyed attending drag races in Elizabethtown, NJ, Lebanon Valley, and Fonda Fultonville. He was also an avid fan and could be seen at many of the Maple Hill basketball home games. Douglas was a life member of the Castleton Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, Douglas was predeceased by a twin brother who passed away at birth, his brother; William Lebrecht, his son; Douglas C. Lebrecht Jr., and his grandson; Justin Haight.

He is survived by his longtime companion; Joanne Lowe, his daughter; Shelly (William) Haight, and his grandson; Jacob Haight.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Douglas’ family on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm, at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave. Castleton, NY 12033. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at 10:00 am, at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the funeral, at Horizon View Cemetery.
