It is with great sorrow that we have to announce the passing of David Weidman. On Sunday August 27, Dave Weidman, loving husband, son, uncle, stepdad and brother, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at the age of 62.
He was born on January 27, 1961, in Albany NY to Allan Weidman and Elizabeth Tosti Hollner. He attended Guilderland High school where he was an honor student and frequently made the dean's list. He was employed for many years by the Hastings Construction company.
He married the love of his life, Pamela Garhartt and helped raise her 3 children - Sam, Tori and Darren.
David spent his summers growing up on Burden Lake in Averill Park, swimming and boating at his family's camps. Later, he used his knowledge and skills to help his dad maintain and renovate the camps. He had many interests, including hunting with his dad, owning and repairing performance cars, and had a special affection for Corvettes. He also had a passion for performance boating and has been known to pilot his boats at over 100mph. He always loved attending the Horsepower on the Hudson event every year, always arriving early to reserve a great table for everyone. He will be sorely missed at holidays where his turkey carving skills were the envy of all that attended.
Dave was predeceased by his father, the great Alamo Weidman, and his cats Buggy, Baby and Niki. He is survived by his loving wife Pam, his 3 stepchildren, Darren Warnken Jr. (Katie), Victoria Warnken (Nate), Samantha Warnken, and their children Savanna, Reagan, Darren Thomas, Walker, Hunter and his beloved cat Lucy. He is also survived by his mother Elizabeth Tosti Hollner, his brother Bo Weidman (Irene), his sisters Wendy Will (Arnie), Cindy Flanagan (Bucky), his nieces Kasey Dahlin (Tom), Meghan Clark (Dan), Morgan Casparius (Erik) his nephew Jon Will (Lydia) and great niece and nephew Kaylen Dahlin and Cooper Casparius. He also had many, many friends who will miss him dearly.
