Castleton-David J. Peters, 74, of Castleton, NY, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, surrounded by family, song and prayer.

Predeceased by his adoring wife, Judith “Toots” Peters; Loving father to Michele Peters (Marty Harrington), Melinda Nelson, Melissa (Paul) Petalas, Maureen Peters (Patrick McDonald), Marilyn (Keith) Houghtaling and Marlena Peters. Devoted Grandfather to Joshua, Tyler, Nicholas, Patrick, Keith, Micayla, Kellen, John Paul, Alec, Billy, Joey, Sean and Sierra.

Also survived by his sister, Patricia Renaud, of FL. and his brother-in-law, Edward Seymour, of McMurray, PA, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Roslyn Llewellyn Peters and Margaret G. Mahar Peters.

David was born in Schenectady, NY, raised in Schenectady & Montreal, Canada and lived in Schenectady, until settling in Castleton 39 years ago. He graduated from Saint Joseph’s Academy, Schenectady in 1956.

David began his career as a baker, then changed paths and went into manufacturing and maintenance. He enjoyed helping out at the family’s diner, Judy’s Place, as well as assisting, most recently, at Ambiance Florals.

He was a devoted family man, loved his Yankees and was always ready for a good card game with family & friends. He will be greatly missed by all of Dave’s Six Angels.

Funeral service from the Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY, Saturday February 1, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday January 31, 2014 from 4-8 p.m.
