Castleton-Clara Ann Bierle Koryn, 91, of Green Ave., died February 26, 2013. Clara was born in Lone Rock, IA, the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Murray) Bierle. She was the wife of 57 years to the late Joseph M. Koryn and was also predeceased by brothers, Russell, Richard and Roy Bierle and sisters, Ersel Bernhard, Viola Dacken, Luella Palmer and June Bierstedt.
Clara had lived in Castleton for over 50 years. She was a homemaker, an excellent cook, and was noted for her homemade pies.
She is the mother of Patricia L. Gootz (Roger Latham) of Nassau and Barbara J. Herbst of Castleton; grandmother of Michael J. Phelps (Eileen) and Dawn M. Phelps (Erick DeCamp); great-grandmother of Rebecca and Alison Phelps; sister of Raymond (Phyllis) Bierle, Buffalo Center, IA and Norma (Jerry) Borman, Whittemore, IA; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Clara’s family would like to extend many thanks to Hospice of Rensselaer County for the care given to Clara and her family.
Upon the request and wishes of Clara, there will be no funeral services.
