Castleton-Charles Henry Daly of Castleton and Delray Beach, Fla., died suddenly on October 15, 2017. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife and best friend for 43 years Roberta K. Daly. He was the father of Edward (Stephanie), Sarah (Paul) Tacy and Megan; brother of William Daly (2010), Jeff Daly (Gary Delemeester) and Beth Johns (Rob) and brother–in-law of Janis and Thomas Lumley. He was the proud grandfather of Benjamin and Shannon Tacy; Jackson and Markham Daly and Gabriel Daly. Chuck, as he was known to his friends and family was born in Troy, attended college in Vermont and New York City. He traveled the world from Ireland to Belize and beyond with his wife. Chuck was a retired contract administrator from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York. Chuck was the most proud of his cherished family. He was an avid golfer and member of the Troy AOH golf league for nearly 40 years, which he shared with his son Ed. His family has fond memories of Chuck and Roberta making their annual trek to Florida to spend winters. They had adventures exploring southern Florida and welcoming regular visits from family and friends. For over 35 years the Daly’s have been going to Friends Lake in the Adirondacks each summer, which is a tradition now passed on to the next generation. Chuck lived his life to the fullest and exactly how he wanted to. This may be the most profound impression and lesson he passed to people closest to him. Chuck enjoyed easy conversations with just about anyone, often infusing humor in each encounter. Calling hours are Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home at 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton. Family, friends and loved ones of Chuck are welcome to join in the celebration of his life.
