Jensis, Cathleen A.

Castleton, NY-Cathleen A. Jensis, 64, died Sunday October 15, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Mechanicville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Virginia (Donahue) and Almon “Bill” Lenihan. Cathy is survived by her husband of 44 years Roger J. Jensis; daughters Christine Jensis Somers (Eugene) and Brenda L. Jensis; granddaughters Josephine and Isabelle Somers; brothers Kyle Lewis and David Lenihan; sisters Priscilla Lewis Howland and Colleen Bradshaw.
Cathy was a graduate of Mechanicville High School, a member of the JayCees and JayCee Women, a Life member of the Castleton Volunteer Ambulance, and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was a caregiver to family and friends, a member of the International Dinner Club, loved quilting, gardening, and was kindly known as the “Lollipop Lady.”
Funeral services will be 9:15 am Thursday at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY and 10 am at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Wednesday 4-7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
