Castleton-Bernard Knott, 93, peacefully joined Corrine, his wife of 57 years, and Mary Strevell, his daughter, in eternal rest on Friday November 21, 2014.

Born in Hudson, he is the son of the late Edith (Sanford) and George Knott, Sr.
Mr. Knott was a US Army veteran of World War II serving in the Red Arrow division in the Pacific theater. After the War, he married the former Corrine White and they resided in Stuyvesant. While in Stuyvesant, he was a member of the Stuyvesant Fire Company. Later moving to Castleton, he was employed as a construction mechanic for Walter S. Pratt and Sons, Rensselaer for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. For many years he was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Castleton.

He is survived by his daughter Pollyann (Dale) Berlin; son-in-law Joseph Strevell; beloved grandchildren Jeremy (Sarah) Cromie and Nicole (Robert) Childrose; step-grandchildren Valerie, Joshua, Justin and Dale; great grandchildren Jack, Ella, Michael, Emma and Corrine; brothers George (Juanita) Knott, Jr. and Leonard Knott; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm on Monday November 24, 2014 at Ray Funeral Service, Inc. 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY. His funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday November 25, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church 159 Rt. 26 A, Stuyvesant, NY 12173. Interment, Stuyvesant Falls Cemetery.
