Anne Slonski departed from this life on Sunday, May 4, to share in the eternal joys of the
Resurrected Lord.
Her parents, the late Anastasia and John Slonski, were blessed by her birth on July 2, 1925. She was predeceased by older siblings, Sr. Hedwig Slonski, CR., Sr. Therese
Slonski, CR., a brother, Casimir Slonski and nephew, Casimir Slonski.
Anne received Bachelor and Masters Degrees from the College of St. Rose and pursued
post graduate studies at New York University. She was a dedicated high school and elementary teacher, whose outstanding career spanned five decades. After teaching for many years at Maria Regina High School in Hartsdale she accepted a teaching position in
Sacred Heart Elementary School in Yonkers, NY. She retired in 1992 after giving 20 years of service.
Professional colleagues, students and parents recognized her as a Master Teacher. The care, concern and personal interest in her students went beyond academic achievement. Over the years students acknowledged the powerful influence she had in shaping their
lives and careers.
Anne is survived by nieces, a nephew and great nieces. She leaves a grieving Brokowski family who loved and cherished her, their Aunt Annie.
Visitation will be at The Ray Funeral Home in Castleton, NY. on Friday, May 9, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 AM in the Convent Chapel of the Sisters of the Resurrection in Castleton, NY. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Castleton, NY.
In lieu of flowers gifts may be sent to the retirement fund of the Sisters of the Resurrection, 35 Boltwood Ave., Castleton, NY.
