Ellis, Agnes Sheila

Castleton-Agnes Sheila Ellis, went quietly home to God on March 26, 2017, in the loving watch of her devoted children. Born in Dublin, Ireland on January 16, 1927, Sheila brought with her to this country a strong and generous nature. Quick witted and charming, Sheila loved to sing the old songs and to dance a few steps. She baked many a chocolate chip cookie that she handed out to the neighborhood kids and she ended each day with a cup of tea and a good book. Sheila was a firm believer in the importance of family and that faith and a prayer could see you through. Sheila was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Agnes (Robinson) McManus.
She is predeceased by her husband, Patrick Ellis, her siblings: Kevin, Maeve, Deirdre, Desmond, Bernadette, Rita, Dermot, and Sean and by her son-in-law, James Dowling. Sheila is survived by her sister, Frances (Michael) Dowling, her sister-in-law Mae (Sean) Mc Manus, her children: Mary (James) Dowling, Patrick Ellis, Desmond (Marisol Bermudez) Ellis, Bernadette Ellis, Sheila Ellis and Denise (Michael) Prinzo and her grandchildren: Padraic, Dennin, and their mother, Corby, Daniel, Colette, Vincent, Dominic, Philip, Dante, Isabella, Gabriel, and Grace and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass 10 am Saturday April 1, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church 3 Catholic Way, Castleton. Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Friday March 31, 2017 at Ray Funeral Home 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton.
