Castleton-Paul J. Puccio, beloved husband of Margaret (DiPierro) Puccio for 67 years, passed peacefully at home on December 17, 2013. Born February 16, 1923 in New York City, a veteran of World War II as a member of the 42nd Rainbow Division, he owned and operated the Bel Air Motel and Restaurant (Berkshire Room) with his brother George for 40 years. The son of Genevieve and Salvatore Puccio, he was also predeceased by his brother George (Angelina) and sister Loretta (John) Levonic. He is survived by Margaret, sons Paul, Robert (Joan) and Gary (Eileen) and daughter Jamie (James) Miller. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his great culinary skill, his bond with his brother, and his lifelong effort to build his business and to provide for his family. In his retirement years, he became a regular at L & M Motors and Price Chopper. He was a devoted friend and handy man who shared his talents and humor eagerly.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY from 4:00-7:00 pm Friday December 20, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday December 21, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton, with interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
