Van Wormer, Elvira M.

Castleton-Elvira (Vera) Van Wormer, 91, passed away on July 19, 2018. She worked for 7 years for Sterling Winthrop, 10 years for the College of St. Rose and retired after 19 years from Albany Memorial Hospital. Vera was very active in the Schodack Landing Auxillary and the South Schodack Ladies Auxillary in her younger years.
Vera will be remembered for her love of the NY Yankees, NASCAR, and enjoyed reading her weekly magazines. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends.
She is survived by her daughter Linda (Kenneth) Golden; her grandchildren Kevin (Sheila) Golden, Kristina Macyowskie; Scott and Shaun Sukup; great-grandchildren Derrick and Kerry Golden, Stephen and Skylar Macyowskie. She is predeceased by her son David, husband Clayton Van Wormer, former husbands, Joseph Sukup and Al Malcomson, sister Ann; brothers Merced, Tony, Edward and Cruz.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 23 from 4-7 pm at Ray Funeral Home.
A graveside service for Vera will be held at 11 am Tuesday July 24 in New Sacred Heart Cemetery, Schodack.
